Can UK standard industrial pallets be used for shipments from the UK to continental Europe?

UK standard industrial pallets can be shipped from the UK to continental European destinations, but two practical constraints apply. First, the shipment crosses an international customs border — commercial invoice with HS codes, EORI numbers for both the UK exporter and EU importer, and a customs declaration are required in both directions. Second, continental European freight networks and warehouse operations are primarily dimensioned for the euro pallet at 800mm × 1200mm. Receiving warehouses using euro-standard racking may not accommodate 1000mm-wide industrial pallets without surcharges or rejection at the delivery point. This must be confirmed with the consignee before booking.
