DND stands for demurrage and detention — a combined charge appearing on one invoice when both conditions apply to the same shipment. Shipping lines consolidate the two into a single D&D line item on European trade lanes. The charges remain separately calculated underneath, so an importer disputing a D&D invoice specifies which component is being challenged and on what grounds.
