What is the difference between a delivery receipt and a goods receipt slip?

A delivery receipt is signed at the delivery door — it is the recipient's acknowledgement of the handover at the moment the carrier transfers the goods. A goods receipt slip is generated internally by the recipient's warehouse after the goods are inspected and accepted into stock — it records the internal verification process that follows the delivery receipt event. The delivery receipt closes the carrier's custody of the goods; the goods receipt slip opens the recipient's internal receipt record.
