What is the difference between a dock leveller and a charging point?

A charging point is the complete raised platform structure at the warehouse wall. A dock leveller is a component built into that platform surface that compensates for small height variation between the dock and the vehicle bed — typically a difference of 50 to 100 millimetres. The charging point is the fixed structure; the dock leveller is the adjustable bridging element within it.
