How do you store a tension strap after use?

Open the ratchet fully before rolling — a closed ratchet traps the webbing under tension and stresses the mechanism over time. Check the webbing for cuts, fraying, faded capacity labels, and hook deformation before rolling. Fold the fixed-end hook against the webbing, then roll from the hook end toward the ratchet in a tight cylinder. Store the rolled strap dry, away from UV exposure and chemical contact, in a bag or container that keeps dirt off the webbing surface between uses.
