A compliance certificate proves that a product meets the technical and safety standards required for its destination market. It protects the importer against customs rejection, market access refusal, and legal liability for non-compliant goods. Without it, regulated goods are held at the EU external border until valid documentation is produced or the consignment is ordered for re-export.
