What happens if the declared weight on the label does not match the actual weight at the depot?

Carriers weigh packages at the collection depot or at the first sort hub. When the depot weight differs from the declared weight on the label, the carrier applies a reweigh charge and invoices on the higher of the two figures. A consistent gap between declared and actual weights on repeat shipments from the same account is treated as systematic underdeclaration, which can result in account suspension under carrier terms. The label must show the actual gross weight of the sealed package at the point of collection.
