Two other meanings circulate. In town planning, bulky goods premises is a retail zoning classification covering showrooms selling large items such as furniture and appliances. In waste management, bulky goods means household items needing special collection — mattresses, white goods, carpets. Neither describes how a carrier classifies a consignment for transport.
