When should I use an Edscha body instead of a flatbed trailer for crane-loaded cargo?

Use an Edscha body when the crane-loaded cargo requires weather protection during transit. Steel coils, paper rolls, and glass panels are moisture-sensitive or surface-sensitive — road transit on an open flatbed exposes them to rain, condensation, and road contamination. An Edscha body provides both overhead crane loading access and full weather protection once the roof and curtains close after loading. Use a flatbed instead when the cargo is an abnormal load wider than 2.48 metres or too tall for the trailer to close after crane placement.
