DHL courier partner
DHL courier partner services through Go Trans cover express delivery, European parcels and pallet groupage from Belgium, matched to each shipment.
DHL courier partner services through Go Trans cover three shipment classes from Belgium: DHL Express for time-definite delivery, DHL eCommerce for European parcels and DHL Freight for pallets and groupage. Go Trans arranges the booking, and DHL performs the transport. DHL is one of five carrier partners matched to each shipment by weight, route and deadline.
DHL Express Time-Definite Delivery
DHL Express delivers on the next possible business day with fixed time commitments of 09:00, 10:30, 12:00 or end of day to eligible destinations. Each tier carries its own weight ceiling.
| DHL Express service | Delivery commitment | Max per piece | Max per shipment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Express 9:00 | By 09:00 next possible business day | 25 kg | 250 kg |
| Express 10:30 | By 10:30 next possible business day | 25 kg | 250 kg |
| Express 12:00 | By 12:00 next possible business day | 70 kg | 300 kg |
| Express Worldwide | End of next possible business day | 70 kg | 3,000 kg |
Express 9:00 and 10:30 serve major cities and business centres and include On Demand Delivery, which lets the receiver choose how and when the parcel arrives. Express Worldwide is the most-used DHL export product from Belgium and accepts palletised pieces up to 1,000 kg.
Contracts, replacement parts and commercial samples with a fixed deadline belong in these tiers, which form the time-definite courier from Belgium that Go Trans books when delivery time matters more than price.
DHL Parcels Across Europe
DHL eCommerce carries standard parcels by road across Europe within 2–5 working days from Belgium. It suits B2B and B2C parcels that need a reliable delivery day rather than a morning commitment.
Every parcel weighs up to 31.5 kg. Consumer parcels to the rest of Europe measure up to 120 × 60 × 60 cm, with a maximum girth of 360 cm calculated as length + 2 × width + 2 × height. Business parcels measure up to 120 × 60 × 50 cm and travel outside Benelux in shipments of up to 2,500 kg and 12 m³.
Online orders, wholesale cartons and stock replenishment follow this road network when businesses send a parcel in Europe without an express deadline.
DHL Pallets and EuroConnect Groupage
DHL moves palletised goods through two services: Europlus pallets for individual palletised shipments and DHL Freight EuroConnect for groupage consignments up to 2,500 kg.
A Europlus pallet measures up to 120 × 100 × 200 cm including the base, with a weight limit of 1,000 kg within Benelux and 750 kg to the rest of Europe. EuroConnect accepts items up to 1,500 kg and 240 × 220 × 220 cm on more than 2,000 international lines, with liability under the CMR Convention. Tail-lift delivery, delivery on appointment and Euro pallet exchange are available as options.
Wholesale stock, machine parts and multi-pallet orders take this route when shippers send a pallet in Europe with DHL as the matched partner.
DHL Weight, Size and Volumetric Weight
DHL Express charges the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight, calculated as length × width × height in centimetres ÷ 5,000. One cubic metre therefore counts as 200 kg.
A box measuring 75 × 40 × 40 cm has a volumetric weight of 24 kg, so it is billed at 24 kg even with an actual weight of 20 kg. Low-density goods such as clothing and display materials are billed on volumetric weight, so accurate dimensions decide the rate.
The parcel ceilings stay separate by division: 31.5 kg per parcel on DHL eCommerce and 70 kg per piece on DHL Express. Once the chargeable weight is set, the remaining choice is where the shipment enters the DHL network.
DHL ServicePoints in Belgium
DHL operates 2,800 ServicePoints in Belgium and more than 100,000 across Europe, supported by six regional hubs inside Belgium. Senders choose between door collection and drop-off at a ServicePoint, depending on the service booked.
Receivers on the European parcel network also collect from ServicePoints, with size limits set by the local partner in the destination country.
When DHL Is the Right Go Trans Carrier
DHL fits shipments that need a timed delivery, a heavier express piece or a single network for parcels and pallets. Other partners fit other profiles: DPD for Pickup-based road parcels, and DSV for groupage, part loads and full loads.
A 20 kg spare part due in Milan by 12:00 the next day is checked against DHL Express 12:00 for that postcode. 40 cartons to Lyon with no deadline are compared on DHL eCommerce and DPD before the booking is confirmed.
Transit time, weight ceiling and price per postcode pair decide the final match, and the same three measures drive every courier partner comparison between DHL, DPD, UPS and FedEx.
