Van Delivery Europe
Go Trans arranges dedicated van delivery across Europe for bulky, oversized, and time-sensitive loads, with direct routing and no shared vehicle space.
Dedicated van delivery reserves a vehicle exclusively for one load — direct routing from collection to delivery, no shared space, and fewer handling points than shared or palletised services. Go Trans arranges van delivery across European routes through trusted carrier partners including DSV, DHL, DPD, UPS, and FedEx, matched to each load based on size, weight, route, and required timeline.
What Van Delivery Covers
Van delivery suits loads that are too large, bulky, or handling-sensitive for standard courier or pallet services — but do not require the full capacity of a freight truck. The load travels in a dedicated vehicle directly from the origin address to the destination, with no consolidation stops or shared handling along the route.
Common load types suited to van delivery include:
- Furniture, large appliances, and interior fixtures requiring careful handling
- Exhibition and event equipment that needs to arrive intact and on schedule
- Oversized or awkward items that do not palletise safely or fit standard courier dimensions
- Time-sensitive business loads where direct routing is a priority
- High-value or fragile consignments that benefit from reduced handling points
Furniture needs blanket wrapping and careful loading, which matters most when sending a sofa or table across borders. Machinery, generators, and site equipment that need a dedicated vehicle move as plant and equipment transport. Garments and fabric rolls that must arrive clean, dry, and uncreased are handled through textile transportation.
Van delivery is also referred to as man and van for smaller dedicated loads — the same direct-vehicle model applies, with a single vehicle assigned from collection through to delivery.
Indicative Vehicle Types
Two common vehicle types are used for van delivery across European routes. Actual vehicle type, capacity, and dimensions are confirmed at booking based on load profile, route, and carrier partner availability — not every vehicle type is available on every route.
| Vehicle type | Indicative capacity | Suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Box van | Up to ~1,000 kg / ~6 pallets | Smaller bulky loads, furniture, appliances |
| Curtain-side van | Up to ~1,000 kg / ~10 pallets | Larger oversized loads, exhibition equipment |
For lighter loads, panel van load space typically fits around 3 euro pallets, which suits smaller dedicated runs.
Loading assistance — including tail-lift, partial loading help, or full loading support — may be available depending on the carrier partner assigned to the route. Loading requirements should be confirmed at the time of booking.
Transit across European routes is typically completed within 24–48 hours depending on distance, load profile, and carrier availability. This is an indicative range — actual transit time is confirmed at booking and is not guaranteed. Germany borders Belgium directly, so van delivery to Germany usually sits at the faster end of that range. Vans entering the United Kingdom cross a customs border after Brexit, so van delivery to the UK includes commercial invoice and EORI support.
When Van Delivery Is the Right Choice
Van delivery is appropriate when 3 conditions apply:
- The load does not suit standard courier or pallet handling. Items that are bulky, oversized, fragile, or awkward to palletise benefit from a dedicated vehicle where handling is kept to a minimum.
- Direct routing is a priority. A dedicated van travels point-to-point without consolidation stops. For loads where timing matters and shared-vehicle delays are not acceptable, this is the most appropriate option.
- The load does not justify a full freight truck. Van delivery sits between pallet delivery and full truckload freight — suited to loads that exceed courier or pallet capacity but do not fill a large road freight vehicle.
For smaller parcels and documents, courier services across Europe is more appropriate. For palletised goods, pallet delivery across Europe is the better fit. For larger multi-pallet or full truckload volumes, freight services including FTL and LTL are available. Load size, handling needs, and route are the deciding factors when choosing parcel, pallet or van.
Load and Service Reference
Use the table below to identify the most suitable service before requesting a quote. All thresholds are indicative — the right service is confirmed based on actual load dimensions, weight, route, and carrier partner availability.
| Load type | Typical size | Recommended service |
|---|---|---|
| Small parcels and documents | Under 30 kg | Courier Services |
| Palletised goods | 1 to several pallets | Pallet Delivery |
| Bulky, oversized, or dedicated loads | Van capacity range | Van Delivery |
| Part load — multiple pallets | Shared truck space | LTL Freight |
| Full truckload | Full vehicle load | FTL Freight |
How Van Delivery Is Arranged
The service operates through a logistics arranger model. Go Trans does not own vans or employ drivers — it connects customers with suitable carrier partners based on load profile, route, and required delivery timeline.
The process works in 4 steps:
- Submit your load details. Provide the collection address, delivery address, load dimensions, total weight, vehicle type requirements if known, and required timeline through the quote page.
- A suitable carrier partner is identified. From its network, including DSV, DHL, DPD, UPS, and FedEx, the most appropriate van carrier for the route and load profile is confirmed. Not every partner offers van delivery on every European route — availability depends on route, load profile, and partner capacity at the time of booking.
- A dedicated vehicle is assigned. The van is reserved exclusively for the load and travels directly from collection to delivery. Vehicle type is confirmed based on load requirements and carrier availability — not every vehicle type is available on every route.
- Tracking is provided throughout. A tracking reference is issued on confirmation, giving visibility from collection to final delivery through the assigned carrier partner's system.
Submit your load details and available vehicle options will be confirmed for your route.
